Winter Haven Hospital Foundation Team Member and Medical Staff Campaign

Since its inception in 2012, Winter Haven Hospital Team Member and Medical Staff Campaign has raised more than $590,700 to support Winter Haven Hospital and its patients and team members. Each day at the Winter Haven Hospital and Winter Haven Women’s Hospital, we unite to help our community by providing high-quality, compassionate care. It is a team effort that requires the work of many to help just one. Knowing that each patient touched by our care goes on to touch the lives of their friends, family, and neighbors, allows us to truly feel the impact of our teamwork. Gifts of all sizes send a profound message to the community that our team members not only work here but also truly believe in living our mission. Those funds include:

Annual Fund

The Foundation’s Annual Fund provides for the most current and urgent needs of our patients. Since its inception, more than $6 million has been raised. These vital funds have been utilized to provide local state-of-the-art medical care, cutting-edge technology and equipment, top-quality education, and the best and brightest personnel. Making an unrestricted annual gift allows WHH team members to participate in every Foundation and hospital initiative and ultimately every patient’s care.

Florida State University College of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program at Winter Haven Hospital Fund

The critical need for an increased supply of primary care physicians in Polk County Florida is well documented through numerous community health needs assessments conducted by federal and state agencies as well as our own organization. These studies all confirm Polk County’s primary care physician to patient ratio is substantially below national and state standards.

Heart disease, cancer, respiratory disease, stroke, diabetes, and psychiatric disorders are the major causes of death and disability in our community. The simple fact is early detection and treatment of these conditions is most often provided by the professional we so desperately need, the Family Medicine Physician.

Nursing Workforce Development Fund

Supports nursing education, nurse recruitment and retention.

Fund for Women and Children

The Foundation’s Fund for Women and Children focuses on expanding access to medical care for women and children in Polk County. Funds received help support patients served at Winter Haven Women’s Hospital.

Hero Fund

The Foundation HERO Fund assists Winter Haven Hospital team members who need assistance in times of financial crisis.

Behavioral Health Fund

The Foundation’s Behavioral Health Fund focuses on improving access and care for the behavioral health patients including children, adults, and families in Polk County. The Winter Haven Hospital Center for Behavioral Health and Center for Psychiatry inpatient and outpaitent treatment services include; psychiatric care diagnosis and evaluation, medication management, emergency inpatient psychiatric, transportation to appointments, nutrional needs, individual, group, and fmaily therapy as well as case management, crisis support, and educational information.

2024 Team Member and Medical Staff Campaign

In support of our past campaign THANK YOU to the Winter Haven Hospital team members and physicians for their generous support during the 2024 Winter Haven Hospital Foundation “Healthcare Heroes” campaign. We had approximately 355 team members and medical staff participate and raised over $53,000 for Foundation funds. “Healthcare Heroes” Making a Difference campaign allows team members a way to improve the health and well-being of our patients, community and Winter Haven family.
