The Winter Haven Hospital Foundation has provided funding support to launch a new Winter Haven Hospital Patient Clothing Program. Unfortunately, a significant number of Winter Haven Hospital patients arrive at the hospital without basic clothing or personal hygiene supplies.

Lisa Bell (BayCare Manager of Community Benefits), Jesse Vasquez (Winter Haven Hospital Financial Assistance Supervisor) and Brenda Luna (Winter Haven Hospital Healthcare Navigator) approached the Foundation with the idea. “I’ve always wanted to do a clothes closet, and I started working on it about a year and a half ago” Jesse said.

The Winter Haven Hospital financial assistance team will coordinate with the hospital registration and care coordination teams to identify patients needing the clothing, find out their size and then make sure they get a package before they check out of the hospital.

Winter Haven Hospital patients who qualify for the program will receive a drawstring bag with a brand-new shirt, shorts, socks, undergarments, shoes and toiletries, such as a toothbrush, comb and personal care products.

The clothes closet officially opens on November 10th. For questions about this program, please reach out to Jesse Vasquez at (863) 291-6782.
